SUPPLIES & INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Necessary supplies: an 11x14 canvas, acrylic paint (red, cadmium yellow medium hue, ultramarine or cerulean blue, black, purple and white), brushes (one inch mop brush with a long handle - also called a makeup powder brush, a pencil thin brush, a 1/2 inch rounded brush, and a 1/2 inch angled brush), 1 or 2 waxy paper plates for mixing colors, a few rags for wiping spills, a plastic or glass bowl of water, scissors, a pencil, a blow dryer, and a few sheets of unlined paper. Optional supplies: a spray bottle for water, an easel (you can paint on a flat surface if you do not have an easel), and tracing paper in place of the unlined paper.

  • Joannes Fabric and Michaels Crafts allows for online ordering and curbside pickups.  If you prefer to shop in a store, supplies can be purchased at Walmart or Ocean State Job Lot.

  • Acrylic paint stains clothing and surfaces, so please wear old clothing or an apron while painting, and cover your painting surface with plastic or newspaper
